While the top four teams have clearly separated themselves, the seed order within the top four could still change, depending on the outcome of the final four regular season games. As a Creighton fan, I'm excited that we're hosting the conference tourney, and expect a loud crowd of 1200-1500 for the games Creighton participates in.
Creighton (21-7, 12-4 Big East) will take on No. 3 seed Xavier (21-10, 12-4) Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Sokol Arena.
Big East regular season champion Marquette will face No. 4 seed Butler Friday at 4 in the other semifinal.
Marquette and Creighton seem to be the safest bets to emerge from the weekend with one of the NCAA tournament’s 64 bids.
The Bluejays entered the weekend with a No. 12 RPI, and the Golden Eagles sat one spot behind at 13.
Xavier likely sits in the most precarious spot with an RPI of 54, while Butler’s RPI is 36th.
